Recently, the Wall Street Journal has featured an article about Prof. Peter Boettke, who holds a chair at the George Mason University, Virginia. Wall Street Journal presents him as the leader of the Austrian revolution. I am tempted to think, that Boettke is one of the few Austrians, who’s expressing the ideas of this school of thought, without giving one the notion to feel ashamed.
And why would that be the case? Because, in that interview, he makes an interesting remark about the threats of being considered part of a growing Austrian movement.

WikLeaks somewhat smells funny when it comes down to certain countries. Is it really such a big accomplishment, to provide the obvious? Didn’t we all know it anyway, that the Afghan war hasn’t really achieved much, let alone brought peace to that miserable part of the world? Didn’t we all know, that that the CIA is a secret service und thus tries to keep its services secret?
Please, WikiLeaks, what’s the big deal? Tell me something, I didn’t know or at least didn’t expect.

Insbesondere die Konservativen scheinen von der Vorstellung besessen zu sein, daß die linken 68er und der angeblich durch diese herbeigeführte Lebenswandel, die Ursache für die mangelnde Fortpflanzungsbereitschaft, oder, wie es neuerdings so schön heißt, die geringe Reproduktionsrate, sei.
Dies gilt insbesondere auch für solche Konservative, die sich, seltsam genug, auf die Österreichische Schule und auf Ludwig von Mises, einen der führenden Köpfe der Österreichischen Schule, berufen.
Doch ausgerechnet jener Ludwig von Mises, führt die sinkende Geburtenrate in der modernen Gesellschaft nicht auf linke Ideologie, sondern auf den Kapitalismus zurück.
